Vincent J. Chow – of counselVincent Chow is of counsel at Vantage Counsel LLC. Vincent received a BA with distinction in social sciences from Stanford University in 1988 after also attending the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). After Stanford, he worked in investment banking for Banque Paribas (now BNP-Paribas) in Hong Kong and as a project manager in the development of a computerized clearing and settlement system for the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Vincent graduated from UCLA in 1994 with a JD/MBA while attending both programs on academic fellowships. After law school, he worked as a corporate, securities, mergers and acquisitions attorney at Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, in Honolulu. He joined Baker & McKenzie in Hong Kong in 1997 as a U.S. securities lawyer, working primarily with Chinese companies interested in an IPO. In 1998, Vincent moved to the Silicon Valley and worked as a Counsel and Director of Corporate Planning for a venture capital funded startup (RemarQ). In 1999, he became a Director of Business Development for another venture capital funded startup (ShoppingList.com). Since 2000, Vincent has focused on a variety of entrepreneurial activities from both a legal and business perspective, including starting companies, drafting patents, structuring licensing and business development contracts, arranging financing, and working on trademark issues. He also worked for Cooley Godward in 2004 in marketing and business development. |
